Commercial EPC
What is a Commercial EPC?
Ensuring Your Commercial Property Meets Energy Efficiency Standards
A Commercial Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) measures the energy efficiency of a non-domestic building, providing an energy rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). The certificate also includes recommendations to help improve the building’s energy performance, reduce energy consumption, and lower operating costs.
A Commercial EPC is a legal requirement for most commercial properties when they are sold, let, or newly constructed.
Compliance and Legal Protection
Avoid Costly Fines
Property owners, landlords, and sellers must make a valid EPC available to prospective buyers or tenants at the earliest opportunity, and no later than when they request information about the property or arrange a viewing.
Failure to comply may result in a financial penalty of 12.5% of the property’s rateable value, subject to a minimum fine of £500 and a maximum of £5,000. Where the rateable value formula cannot be applied, the penalty is £750.
